Georg Kolbe: A Digital Edition of His Letters

Kolbe preserved not only his artistic legacy but also his written papers, which form the core of the museum’s archive. The documents consist mainly of letters addressed to Georg Kolbe, including numerous letters from prominent figures. In addition to personal correspondence, the written papers comprise extensive business correspondence with art publishers, associations, public authorities and museums. As part of the project, 1,200 items of correspondence were digitised.
